I am a young professional with 5+ years of tutoring experience. I have worked with numerous East Bay organizations and schools, providing one-on-one and group tutoring services in reading and writing to K-12 students. In the past, I have facilitated personal statement workshops for high school seniors focusing on writing content, grammar, style, and structure. I am proficient in Portuguese and Spanish and have a strong academic background in history, rhetoric, writing, and social theory. I just wrapped up two years of work at the UC Berkeley Public Service Center, where among other things, I developed program curriculum, trainings, and facilitated dialogue and advising sessions. I also have seven years of experience in the martial art Judo if you are looking for tutoring in that field of study! I am a patient teacher who listens to students and seeks to understand and apply their particular learning style. I try to encourage students to find the "fun" and "interesting" parts of an assignment and to make their learning a personal experience. I am willing to travel to areas in Berkeley and Oakland, but I am also prepared to consider other cities in the East Bay.

Hobbies
I love the arts. I have previously been involved in choral groups and continue to sing in my free time. I am currently learning how to play the guitar. I just finished up an oils painting class at Laney and spend a good amount of my free time painting. I also enjoying attending local performances every week to inspire my own writing and work!
