Experience
I have always been involved in education. My first jobs were tutoring math and reading at Score! Educational Center and working as a summer camp counselor. Since then, I've taught on the college and high school level. I have served as a writing instructor at Brown University and Northwestern University's Center for Talent Development. Serving as a tutor, I have learned how to cater to the intellectual development of each student. I work with students aged 11 to 18, some of whom are working above grade level and others who are barely managing to pass their classes. In each case, I have been able to foster a collaborative relationship with the student, which allows us to work together to assess the student’s needs. My students have diverse motivations and expectations of themselves, and I consider it my responsibility to meet each student where she is. I am dedicated to providing an opportunity for students to thrive, and not just in one dimension, but in all dimensions: socially and academically, in personal communication and intellectual engagement.
