Education

BS Biology (University of Alabama; honors) MS Biochemistry (The Ohio State University; honors) PhD Biochemistry (The Ohio State University; honors) Postdoc in Cancer Etiology and Prevention (The Johns Hopkins University) Postdoc in Public Health (UCSF The School of Medicine) I have taught General Chemistry as well as Organic and Biochemistry for Allied Health Majors at Stevenson University in Maryland; La Sierra University in Southern California; Loma Linda University in Southern California, and Peralta Community Colleges in Oakland California. Additionally, I have also privately tutored Chemistry for High School private and public school students in Maryland as well as California.

Experience

I have tutored privately for ten years and can provide testimonials upon request. I currently work at UCSF and am available on selected evenings. I am also open to exploring online tutoring options via Skype or google hangout to accommodate busier schedules. I recently taught part time at Laney Community College in The Department of Chemistry to have the flexibility to stay home with our daughter. I returned to work last June at UCSF, but I miss the opportunity to teach and share my knowledge of Chemistry and Biochemistry with students. With each student I have tutored over the past 10 years I am very proud of the fact that with consistent hard work and ongoing tutoring, everyone has achieved optimal results.

Hobbies

My husband and I have a 19 month old daughter. I have tutored all age levels and am comfortable working with any grade or professional level student. I am patient, thoughtful, and will take a very active role in any given student's life to help them achieve their scholastic goals. I have over 7 years of classroom experience with my most recent part time teaching appointment as an Adjunct Professor of Chemistry at Laney Community College before returning to full time employment at UCSF. I prefer offering assistance through the mechanism of tutoring because quite frankly, grading exams is rather laborious. I'd love to hear how I may assist you achieve your goals! -Talk to you soon
