EducationPomona College - Bachelors, Neuroscience
ExperienceI'm a tutor who is based out of the San Francisco-Bay Area, where I enjoy reading, playing the ukulele, and cooking when I'm not in the classroom working with my students. I have my bachelor's degree in neuroscience from Pomona College, and am able to help students with a variety of math and science-related courses. I also have experience helping students in computer science, English, and with standardized test preparation. I'm currently finishing up my master's degree in education from Stanford University, where I'm also getting a biology credential. While in undergraduate, I worked with middle and high school students in both their writing and science courses. I also had the opportunity to work as a teacher's assistant for an introductory computer science course. After graduating, I was lucky enough to work as an AmeriCorps teaching fellow at a school in East Oakland. My background in working with students has caused me to develop a deep passion for the field of education. I love the feeling I get when one of my students finally has a breakthrough moment in a subject they've been struggling with for awhile. I believe that every student can find success in each of their classes "” sometimes they just need some external guidance to get there. As a tutor, I seek to provide my students with the guidance they need to have long and successful academic careers.
