EducationPitzer College - BA, Anthropology
ExperienceI earned a B.A. in Anthropology with an focus on Indigenous Studies from Pitzer College. After I graduated from college, I relocated to Peru. There, I conducted a study on the feasibility of a micro finance program in an indigenous community in a rural area in the Andes mountains. While conducting my research, I became certified as an ESL instructor, and went on to teach English to high school students around Peru. Today, I work with students in a variety of subject areas, including Algebra, Spanish, History, English, and organizational skills. I find organizational skills to be critical for success in any academic area, and offer them to my students as a foundation for achieving their potential. There is little more rewarding than watching a student master subject matter he or she once struggled with, found intimidating, or even believed to be unmanageable. Some of the core areas in which I offer tutoring services include Elementary Math, Algebra, Writing, Biology, ESL/ELL, History, English, and Anthropology. When I'm not working with students, I like to watch movies, read, and follow sports.
HobbiesReading, watching films, and keeping up with the latest sports news.
