After a considerable amount of experience tutoring, I have learned that one of the most important things about the learning process is instilling a sense of interest and discovery into the student's learning experience. By making sure they don't feel frustrated by subjects that have been a source of difficulty in the past, the student is engaged and stimulated, greatly increasing the retention of the learned material. I would not have reached the kind of academic success that I have without a deep passion for learning, and it is this passion that I hope to share with my students. When I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Classics with honors from the University of Chicago, I received a special commendation for my Bachelor of Arts thesis. It is my intention to pursue a Ph.D. in Classics. I spent a great deal of time during my undergraduate studies serving as a tutor for students ranging from kindergartners to 8th graders through a student organization. I specialized in helping those students with their reading comprehension and writing skills. I can now tutor students in all levels of Latin, AP Latin, IB Classical Languages SL and HL, and can help students prepare for the SAT. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, cooking, and swimming.
