Experience
My early work history as an Engineer in high-tech/high volume electronics manufacturing enables me to provide students a realistic perspective on the types of experiences they might encounter should they choose to pursue corporate job positions, particularly in a technical field. Since my last engineering position in 2001, I have spent 13 years in education, in two countries at five schools, with primary focus on secondary level Math and English instruction. I have taken on a various responsibilities including direct classroom instruction, curriculum development, online/home school support, personal tutoring (100's of hours) as well as extracurricular/athletic program coordination. In recent years my focus has turned to the development of a more progressive, individualized approach to education, as I firmly believe that the answer to student success is within each child. I exude patience and positivity in motivating students to continuously improve without fear of failure. My greatest reward comes in helping children to become self-educators who seek opportunities for new knowledge as well as social contribution. As a result of numerous job titles in both public and private sectors, I have developed advanced management, communication and organizational skills and computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. I also speak, read and write Spanish at an intermediate/working level.
