I currently teach High School with a local public school district. I am a native of Italy, and I am a frequent visitor to my homeland. I was born and raised near Florence, and traveled back and forth to Puglia as well. I live in Oakland, and in addition to teaching High School in California for the past 25 years, I taught at a local San Francisco Italian School for kids and teens for 8 years. I use text books to supplement learning and navigating everything from vocabulary to idioms to conjugations and syntax. My methodology includes varied elements. I like to rely on fun, and I apply musical, cooking, cultural components and artifacts and sometimes field trips depending on the student's learning style and preference. Incorporating these learning strategies has the potential to enhance the learning process while processing the more rigorous steps to language comprehension. Interesting highlights: I served in the US Military as a Dental Hygienist for 6 years in Frankfurt, Germany I lived in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain for 4 years.
