Experience
I have been a high school math and physics teacher for the last five years, including four years in at Oakland Military Institute, one year at Freedom High in Oakley, CA, and a summer teaching physics at the SMASH summer program in Berkeley. Working with students individually has always been rewarding for me as I can tailor instruction to the needs of the student and help the student feel confident in their abilities. I have taught all levels of math from Algebra 1 to AP Calculus AB, and had several of my students pass the AP test. Before I started teaching, I worked as a tutor in the student services department at UC Santa Cruz and tutored privately as well. At both schools I have worked at, I worked in the academic support programs in addition to my teaching job. I have worked with students of all levels, including course repeaters, honors students, and students with IEPs and I firmly believe that all students can be successful in math and science.
